Predictive Maintenance for Electric Motor

Here you can see different dashboard concepts meant for a technical user, for example a technician, an electrical engineer or vibration analyst. These prototypes are a selection of some concepts I made for the software Skyler, as part of the transformation to a responsive app. 

Product Overview

The software offers the possibility to can check and review events — health states of different components of a machine, that transmits data using sensors to our software. The Analysis screens shows our user the graphs depicting how vibration of different components of a machine changes over time. The Maintenance screen is a log where technicians can upload their reports of maintenance they performed.

Problem

Technician, electrical engineer or vibration analyst do part of their work in the field, which means that carrying around a computer to carry out certain operations is quite uncomfortable and impractical. They also need this software to be able to be used without an internet connection, due to the field work.

Solution

  • Create different concepts using RDS as a basis, and thus also improve the responsiveness of components and patterns.
  • The creation of different concepts including new navigation concepts, features, data visualisation, redesing, Design System contributions and more.
  • Following the concept of the Electric Motor Maintenance software, designs have been made for home screens, data analysis screen, report and task creation screen, as well as an event/alert screen.
  • Alerts are quite important for the health of the engines, different concepts for interacting with the events have also been explored.

Impact

Thanks to this initiative, we have increased the collaboration between all designers, as well as increasing the visibility of our team and potential.
In addition, most of the interactions and concepts have served as a basis for new features to be applied to the Skyler Onboarding App as well as for the complete responsive Skyler dashboard.
